Hood Canal Events & Festivals

Hood Canal has a genuine community events calendar — oyster farms, waterfront parks, and forest stages hosting festivals that draw from Seattle and beyond. These are the ones worth planning a trip around.

June 20, 2026 · 9am–7pm

Brinnon ShrimpFest

31 Brinnon Lane, Brinnon, WA · Free Admission

Hood Canal is one of the only places on earth where spot prawns — Hood Canal Shrimp — are harvested commercially, and Shrimpfest is the annual celebration. Fresh shrimp for sale, a beer garden, a kids' zone, live music, a Shrimp Iron Chef competition between Peninsula restaurants, and the legendary belt sander races (exactly what it sounds like). The whole thing is free. Brinnon is a tiny town that goes all in for this weekend.

Best for: Everyone. One of the most genuinely fun small-town festivals in Washington State.

Allyn Days — Salmon Bake & Geoduck Festival

Allyn Waterfront Park · Allyn, WA

A three-day waterfront summer festival on the north shore celebrating everything Hood Canal does best — salmon bakes, oyster shucking, Dungeness crab, live music, local vendors, and family activities right on the water. The kind of regional festival that's been around long enough to feel like an institution.

Best for: Families, north shore visitors, mid-July trips.

Peace Love & Union — Saltwater Songwriters Festival

Robin Hood Village Resort · Union, WA

Five days of acclaimed acoustic singer-songwriters — from local talent to Grammy winners — performing in an intimate listening environment at Robin Hood Village Resort on the canal. The 2026 lineup is headlined by Paul Overstreet and Kristian Bush. The quiet antidote to big summer festivals: no enormous crowds, no stadium sound, just skilled songwriters in a beautiful setting. Robin Hood Village's cottages are available exclusively for attendees for the festival weekend.

Best for: Couples, music lovers, anyone who prefers intimacy over scale.

Hoodstock Music Festival

Hood Canal Marina · Union, WA

Hood Canal's most distinctive festival — a two-day floating music event where the stage is on the water and the audience watches from shore, boats, and paddleboards. Multiple art venues, food vendors, and live performances across both days. You can arrive by kayak. The setting at the marina in Union, with the Olympics behind the stage, is hard to beat.

Best for: All ages, music fans, anyone who wants a festival that feels nothing like other festivals.

The West Coast Oyster Shucking Championship is the centerpiece — professional shuckers competing for speed and precision — alongside fresh local seafood, live entertainment, and vendor booths. A great fall road trip reason when summer crowds have cleared and oyster season is at its peak.

Best for: Foodies, fall visitors, anyone who wants to see professional oyster shucking at speed.
